April Is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month
Duncan Firm
April is National Distracted Driving Month, a campaign dedicated to raising awareness of the dangers of driving while distracted and encouraging people to take steps to end their own reckless behavior.
This campaign addresses all forms of distraction, but focuses heavily on cellphone use – including hands-free cellphone use. There is absolutely no evidence that using a hands-free device while driving is safe. In fact, many studies have found hands-free devices increase the risk of causing an auto accident more than manual devices. Part of the goal behind National Distracted Driving Awareness Month is bringing facts like this to light.
