National Car Accident Statistics

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that 32,375 people died in auto accidents in 2014. In region seven, which includes Arkansas and neighboring states, fatal car accidents were 2% higher than the national average. Tragically, nearly all of these could have been avoided if caution and common sense had been utilized.

The leading cause of car accident, both fatal and non-fatal, continues to be driver distraction. In fact, distraction is listed as a contributing factor in over 80% of all car accidents – even those in which it is not a primary cause. This makes inattention a bigger threat to public safety than drugs and alcohol, speeding, and all other forms of negligent driving.

No matter the cause of your accident, if you have been injured by someone else’s negligence, you deserve swift and effective legal representation to help you secure the full compensation you are due.
