James has spent more than a decade representing value-based entrepreneurs, green start-ups, artists, blockchain community members, individuals and established small businesses in a variety of legal matters and business development.  He also represents individuals and families for the Duncan Firm for defective products, business cases, catastrophic personal injury and farmers. 

As Of Counsel at Duncan Firm, James, through James H. Bartolomei, III P.A., represents start-up clients in Venice, California and New York City, with a focus on business development of sustainable and value-based legal services. He also represents several prominent photographers in copyright claims, related to their photos appearing in international media publications. 

James currently serves as outside general counsel for LA-based startup, EatCrateful.com, an award winning James Beard chef prepared meal subscription delivery service company. He also represents LA-based startup Unsit.com, a stand up desk/treadmill company, and Outstanding Foods, a plant-based food start-up founded by Chef Dave Anderson and Bill Glaser. James formerly represented Matthew Kenney Cuisine, a California plant-based lifestyle company.

James previously practiced law with a prominent civil trial firm in New York City as well as Duncan Firm, focusing on complex civil justice cases throughout Arkansas and the United States that resulted in hundreds of millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements. Interesting facts about James include: He interned for the White House during the Clinton Administration and also interned on Capitol Hill in the US Senate for Joe Lieberman and as a fellow for US House of Representative, Vic Snyder, Arkansas's Congressman from the Second District. James attended American University in Washington DC where he earned a BA in International Studies, attended Semester at Sea (a 12 country circumnavigation of the globe), and a law degree at Suffolk University Law School in Boston where he served as President of the Student Public Interest Law Group. 

James is licensed to practice law in California, New York, Florida, Arkansas, Connecticut, DC, and the United States Supreme Court.
