In our most recent article, we discussed what vehicles for 2019 are the LEAST safe for consumers. In this article, we’re looking at the opposite spectrum- the cars receiving top Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) safety ratings.
The ‘TOP SAFETY PICK+’ designation is given to cars and SUVs with the best safety ratings. They earn good ratings in the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. They also must earn an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention, and receive a good headlight rating.
