AAA Predicts Record Breaking Year-End Travel
Duncan Firm
AAA announced today that an estimated 100 million people will travel 50 miles or more from their homes this holiday season. This marks a 1.4% increase over last year and continues a 7-year trend of year-end travel increases. According to AAA, 90% of those traveling between December 23rd and January 3rd will be doing so by car. This alone increases risks for car accidents. We are expecting some rain in the Little Rock area during that time as well, which may further increase risks for accidents.
The Arkansas personal injury attorneys at the Duncan Firm encourage you to drive safely this holiday season, helping ensure you and everyone else on the road reaches their destination happy and healthy.
To help keep drivers safe, Arkansas law enforcement will be engaging in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign beginning December 16th. In addition to driving sober, our Little Rock car accident lawyers would like to remind you to:
- Obey all traffic signs and signals
- Avoid distraction such as cellphone use
- Give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination
- Allow a 2-3 car gap between you and those in front of you
- Be patient, courteous, and thoughtful while on the road
And remember, even the safest driver cannot always prevent an accident. If you are injured in an accident this holiday travel season, please contact the Duncan Firm to schedule a free consultation and learn more about your rights.
