Roundup Cancer Lawsuits
Duncan Firm
Monsanto is one of the largest and richest corporations in the world. And much of that power and wealth is built on one product – Roundup, a nearly ubiquitous herbicide that has been deployed around the world.
But while hundreds of thousands of farmers and other growers rely on Roundup to kill weeds and other potentially troublesome plants, a tragic concern has arisen: close investigation has uncovered links between Roundup and several forms of cancer.
Now, several firms – including ours – are pursuing lawsuits against Monsanto as a result of the company’s failure to warn users of the dangers posed by Roundup. With our unique experience in defective product litigation, we are well-positioned to represent you if you or a family member has suffered an illness as a result of exposure to Roundup.

What is Roundup and Why is it Dangerous?
Originally developed in the 1970’s, Roundup is the market name for glyphosate, a chemical compound that Monsanto discovered was an exceptionally effective herbicide. Once Monsanto developed and marketed Roundup Ready crops – crops that were resistant to the herbicide – Roundup truly exploded in popularity, as farmers were able to kill weeds without affecting their actual crops.
Weeds absorb glyphosate, which is then transported to growing points within the plant. While there, glyphosate inhibits an enzyme that is crucial to the growth of the plant. It is only effective on growing plants.
Now, you can find Roundup in just about every place where crops are grown. It is used on massive industrialized farms in the American Midwest and it is used by hobbyists who tend to small garden plots on the weekend.
There’s no doubting the effectiveness of Roundup as an herbicide. It has certainly made a lot of money for Monsanto. However, recent data has emerged to indicate that Roundup could be a carcinogen.
The specific forms of cancer linked to Roundup include:
- Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma
- Large B-cell
- Follicular lymphoma
- Hairy cell leukemia
- Mantle cell lymphoma
- Peripheral T-cell lymphoma
- Skin lymphoma
Farm workers and other employees with significant exposure to Roundup are at the greatest danger of contracting one of these forms of cancer. Victims from these groups have been reporting lethal medical problems for years.
Duncan Firm Can Help
The larger issue being contested in Roundup lawsuits is the extent of Monsanto’s knowledge. The chemical giant has always claimed that glyphosate is safe, and for years most regulatory agencies agreed. However, in 2015 the International Agency for Research on Cancer categorized glyphosate as a probable carcinogen. In addition, recently released e-mails indicate that Monsanto worked to scuttle a potential EPA review of glyphosate while also ghostwriting pro-Roundup research purportedly authored by respected researchers.
Of course, it’s important to remember that there are real people – real victims – involved in these cases, and our firm always keeps that fact foremost in our minds. Lives have been lost. Families have been devastated. Savings accounts have been drained by skyrocketing medical bills.
Our experienced attorneys can fight for you or your family members if you have contracted cancer after lengthy exposure to Roundup. In such a situation, you badly need compensation to help you afford the expenses associated with your illness. While we cannot guarantee you a specific verdict or settlement, we know how to successfully pursue legal action against large companies.
